  Divecenter - Crew
Thomas Waelchli
Has visited the Maldives first in 1983, loved it and decided to remain. After all this years he still loves his passion, scuba diving. Despite having two lovely “Rascals”, he continues to ride motorbikes… Not in the Maldives though!

Favorite Dive Spot: all
Favorite Fish: Manta Ray
What I miss most from my home: Chäsrösti and the occasional motorbike magazine

Alessandra Bini
Alessandra, proud mother of Leonardo and Chiara, divides her daily duties between motherhood and diving activity. She is from Verona, Italy and her passions, apart of the family and diving, is Yoga and practising the Feldenkrais Method.

Favorite Dive Spot: Dhigali Haa
Favorite Fish: Clown Fish
What I miss most from my home: Pizza from Italy

Cihiro Kanemitsu
Chihiro loves animals, she became a veterinary nurse and even animal hair stylist! Now she cuts Javier's hair very well. Her love for animals took her to the sea, while swimming with dolphins she encountered Javier, since then they travel together. Chihiro has dived in the Philippines, Jamaica and Red Sea. The silent world and the peace under water, pushed her to become an Instructor.

Favorite Dive Spot: Nelivaru
Favorite Fish: juvenile oriental sweetlip
What I miss most from my home: my dogs and cats. Also Agemochi and Noodles!

Javier Sanchez
Javier is Course Director and has been working in Dominican Rep., Jamaica, Mexico, Barcelona, Germany, Australia (GBR), Thailand, Philippines and Red Sea. He was looking for the Paradise and he said he found it here. He also enjoys Free diving with Chihiro. He speaks Spanish, Catalan (of course), English, Italian, French, Portuguese and Japanese (yes fluently!!)

Favorite Dive Spot: Maavaru Caves
Favorite Fish: Whale shark
What I miss most from my home: my family and friends. Also Jamon and fuet!

Giorgia
Giorgia is al little "Rebel", she has travelled to many places but has is still restless. The Maldives have captured her attention (for the moment) and she enjoys diving enormously. Her Parent, who introduced her to diving at a very young age, have to be blamed for her love, for the Sea. Her young age and "Bubbly" character, is a welcoming change in our team. Apart from diving she likes music, books and philosophy.

Favorite Dive Spot: for the moment every single one Misses in general: the little fairy tale frog...
Favorite Fish: rare species and dangerous creatures

Elisabetta Benini
is a shareholder in the Soleni Dive Centre. After 9 years teaching in different resorts around the Maldives, she decided to leave the island in June 1999 settling in Menorca with her husband Laurie Burr. Again she has felt the urge of changing and they will move to South Africa, to run a small lodge. She normally returns to Soneva Fushi for some weeks every year.

Emdad - Compressor Boy
Emdad was hoping for a different career after completing his studies in Bangladesh, but he is happy to earn his own salary and to be able to help his family. He has been working with us for almost 4 years and his friendly way has awarded him the trust of Thomas and Alessandra's kids. Emdad has just recently passed his Open Water Course.

Ahumad Jusuf - Compressor Boy
Ahumad has joined us at the beginning of April and he has replaced Shaneez.
He has worked in Soneva Fushi before, as a speed boat captain and now he is in charge of the school transfers of Leo and Chiara…

Dhoni-Crew
Will look after you as soon as you set your foot on their boat. They take you to the dive sites and safely back to the resort in sunshine or rain. They also help you with your equipment, and have fresh coconut and fresh fruits ready after the dive.
It is also their task to carry the tanks and equipment from and to the dive center.
